Marvel recently revealed three new titles coming as part of the X-Men: From the Ashes relaunch, including a new X-Force. Now, the House of Ideas is giving even more details about its X-Force series and what readers can expect. The series comes from writer Geoffrey Thorne and artist Marcus To and will put the mutant Forge in charge of a new team. The mutant, who can see and solve problems no one else can, finds an issue with the Marvel Universe itself. So, he puts together a team to attempt and fix everything.

The new X-Force series brings Forge in fresh from his run in X-Men ’97. For this new relaunch series, Forge must put together a new team of mutants to help keep the Marvel Universe from unraveling. This new X-Force team will be more flexible than those seen in the past. Several members will be brought in for certain things, not necessarily sticking around for the whole series. For instance, Deadpool is hanging around in the debut issue, but will not remain on the team after that.

However, the series will contain a main team of X-Force members that stay throughout. This includes Rachel Summers and Betsy Braddock who will continue their relationship from Knights of X. Also on the team is Sage, Surge, and Tank, which may be the one from Eve Ewing’s recent Ironheart series. While this new X-Force brings a new vibe and mission to the series, writer Geoffrey Thorne confirms it is still the X-Force readers know and love.

These are the first details Marvel has given for the relaunch since announcing the titles. The three main series of the From the Ashes relaunch, X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, and Exceptional X-Men, will feature three teams of X-Men. These main titles are joined by three “offshoots,” including NYX, Phoenix, and this new Forge series. Besides this new X-Force information, nothing is known about these titles just yet.

X-Force #1 is set to go on sale on 07/31.
