The X-Men relaunch is almost upon us, and Marvel is ramping up excitement. Back at SXSW, Marvel revealed the first three flagship series leading the From the Ashes event. Now, they have announced three more titles pushing mutants into a post-Krakoan Age. The House of Ideas revealed that X-Force, Phoenix, and NYX will be upcoming series set in this new mutant age. They join the already announced X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, and Exceptional X-Men.

During a SXSW panel, Marvel revealed the first three series to bring readers into this X-Men relaunch. The publisher also revealed the teams working on these series. For the flagship X-Men series, Jed MacKay and Ryan Stegman are handling creative duties. Meanwhile, Gail Simone and David Marquez are up for Uncanny X-Men. Finally, Even Ewing and Carmen Carnero team up for Exceptional X-Men. Unfortunately, Marvel has yet to reveal the creative teams behind the recently announced trio of series.

In fact, we know very little about what awaits inside the pages of X-Force, Phoenix, and NYX. However, we do know that the initially announced series are focusing on three different teams of X-Men placed around the globe. Perhaps these new series will serve as off-shoots to show what other mutants are getting up to in a post-Krakoa age. The reveal does seem to solidify the Phoenix Force’s role in this new age of mutants. The cosmic entity has been popping up in recent issues to guide mutants on a multiverse mission.

Post-Krakoa Era

The X-Men relaunch comes after Marvel puts an end to the Age of Krakoa that kicked off in 2019. The current Fall of X event is tying up loose ends for the mutants of Marvel. It is also gearing up to kick off the X-Men: From the Ashes event. While the House of Ideas has unveiled some snippets of what to expect from the From the Ashes era, most is unknown. However, it does feel like the publisher is taking the X-Men back to a time where they were protecting those who feared and hated them. Instead of holding the status of an equal through the nation of Krakoa, it looks like this new era will find the mutants working from the shadows once again.

This new era kicks off on 07/10 with the release of X-Men #1.
