It’s the year of Space Odyssey, Wikipedia launches, Mary J. Blige has the number one song on the Billboard Hot 100, and Monster Inc gets released in theatres: the year is 2001, and fans get to meet Cortana and Master Chief for the first time. It is an exciting time to be a gamer – with cable management being probably the only exception. The early 2000s was the era of single-player gaming, LAN parties, and fighting for the “good controller” with your friends. And today, two decades later, we celebrate 20 years of what today is one of the all-time favorites for console gamers – as Xbox turns 20 this November and celebrates with many interesting events – including the Xbox FanFest.

A lot has changed in the console world in the past years, with the advent of digital and cloud gaming, high definition, new storylines, and a revolution in the old school games that made history in the previous decades.

On top of their latest changes to Game Pass, Xbox organized a catalog packed with nostalgia, from the classics like the Fable saga, Gears Of War, and Halo to timeless adventures like Minecraft. The catalog also features many titles that are not exclusive to the Microsoft console, but still mark very important moments in the modern history of gaming. Keep an eye on the discounts.

Moreover, Microsoft is allowing fans to own their very own Xbox style and wear it as they prefer. The 20th Anniversary collection launched on Xbox‘s website today, displaying a range of gadgets and accessories, t-shirts, and homeware. More oriented towards refreshing your digital look? Then you might be interested in their latest wallpapers – featuring some colorful ones dedicated to the Women in gaming.

The fans have asked for it and we’re delivering.”

Xbox turns 20, but this is not the only great news. You can now sign up for the Xbox FanFest, earning 100 Microsoft points upon registration. What is the Xbox FanFest you may ask?

To quote:

Xbox FanFest is now a combination of exclusive physical and digital events, content, sweepstakes, merch, and more! We are excited to allow more fans the ability to participate with the Xbox community. By registering for Xbox FanFest, you unlock exclusives across Xbox hosted events, promotions, and curated online experiences hosted just for you.”
