When you become the head of Microsoft Gaming, especially after coming from its AI division, scrutiny comes with the territory. That’s exactly what happened after Xbox’s new CEO, Asha Sharma, shared her Gamertag publicly. Gamers quickly combed through her profile, looking for anything that might undermine her credibility. Judging from what they have found, they didn’t have to look very hard.
Spanish insider eXtas1s noted that its first recorded Achievement appears to date back to January 15 via Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The timing raises eyebrows, as it takes only about a month before she was appointed as the head of Microsoft’s gaming division.
But soon after, she got really busy. Like, a couch potato kind of busy. The volume of gameplay she’s done in a single month is ‘suspicious’ for someone as busy as her, quoting eXtas1s.
According to Asha Sharma’s public Gamertag profile AMRAHSAHSA, Ball x Pit shows 98% completion with 43 hours logged within a single week. Which isn’t particularly surprising since HowLongToBeat lists it should take roughly 35 hours for completionists. It also displays a full 1000/1000 completion in Firewatch, aligning with her recent comments in a Variety interview.

Sharma mentioned that she is all about games with ‘deep emotional resonance,’ like what she feels from playing Campo Santo’s 2016 adventure. Her @asha_shar X post also mentioned that her top 3 games are Halo, Valheim, and Goldeneye: 007, and it’s been a ‘long time’ since she played Chrono Trigger.
What’s more curious, though, is that her profile lists Minecraft with less than 12 hours played. However, it includes several rare Achievements that typically take much longer to get through casual play. Among them are:
- The End, with only 4.36% unlock rate.
- Moskstraumen, with 1.14% unlock rate.
- Cover Me With Debris, with 3.95% unlock rate.
- With Our Powers Combined, where only 0.35% players have unlocked the Achievement.
Reddit users wasted no time speculating and weighing in on their opinion regarding Asha Sharma’s Gamertag situation.
Scruffy_Nerfhearder wrote, “Pretending to be a gamer is the worst option, just be honest. Surround yourself with the right people and it’s not an issue.” CrimsonGear80 added, “The intern who played all those games in one month to make it look like she is a gamer should be commended.”
In another thread, GamePitt_Rob skeptically commented, “Don’t fall for it again, it’s not her, they have minimum wage interns (or volunteers) who play on these accounts to make it look like they’re playing games so they can ‘relate’ to the kids…” Meanwhile, BoBoBearDev bluntly called this move ‘PR BS.’
Nevertheless, despite not particularly trusting of Asha Sharma yet, not everyone is sharpening their pitchforks. Redditsuckbadly replied, “Ngl she’s not the right person to steer Xbox, but thinking that the CEO of a multi billion dollar business isn’t gaming enough is hysterical. You know she has other shit going on yeah?”
Totalmentenotanaltv chimed in, “[…] I think it is safe to say, most people don’t give a $#16 if she has 1 billion hours in Halo and GoW, people just want Xbox to not be $#16.”
Still, the reaction shows how closely gamers are watching Xbox’s new leadership. In today’s online climate, sharing a profile is an invitation for the internet to dig through your history. Then decide whether you’re ‘gamer enough’ to run one of the biggest gaming companies in the world.
