Xenoblade Chronicles was a highly successful JRPG released for the Wii that almost didn’t have an western release. So it comes as no surprise that many fans are anxious about the upcoming Xenboblade Chronicles X. Well, to get Western Audiences ready for Xenoblade Chronicles X, Nintendo is releasing a series detailing the basics of the game, titled Xenoblade Chronicles X: Survival Guide(s).
[su_youtube url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUK1b_ysTnI” width=”560″ height=”320″]
The above video is the first of five survival guides, showcasing BLADE and New Los Angeles (NLA). BLADE, the group that you and your party members are part of, is in charge of colonization and survivor retrieval. NLA is the name of the first colony on Mira, your new home planet, where the city resembles Southern California.
You have four districts to explore.
  • The entertainment district is where you and other people can go to have fun.
  • The residential district is where most of the people live
  • The industrial district produces your weapons and other essential items.
  • The BLADE district is where your HQ is, where you do job-related things.

Players will also be able to take on quests to find items and defeat monsters for the citizens of the base town, NLA. Helping the citizens will deepen players’ bonds with them, which in turn can help players form bonds with other citizens. The game will support online multiplayer for up to four players, but up to 32 players will be able to exchange information.

Below are the types of perks players will receive depending on which division they join:

Pathfinders – Experience increased HP Regen overtime.
Interceptors – Increases damage done by ranged weaponsHarriers – Increases damage done by melee weapons
Reclaimers – Higher chance of obtaining items from enemies
Curators – Increased chance of landing critical hits
Prospectors – Decreases damage received in battle
Outfitters – Increase commercial points you obtain
Mediators – Tension Points also increase by using arts, as opposed to just auto-attacks)

Nintendo will release a new video each month until the game releases on December 4, 2015 for the Wii U. You can buy Xenoblade Chronicles X in the standard and/or special edition. The special edition contains a custom USB drive, a game soundtrack, and an artbook. Stay tuned for details!

I believe that games are an important form of entertainment, and that they can uplift and inspire millions of people around the world. I love JRPGs, and dabble in many other genres, especially MOBAs.
