The Epic Games Store 12 Days of Free Games continues with Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. The game is available for free through the Epic Games Store until January 1.

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is the followup to Yooka-Laylee, with a slight twist. While the original Yooka-Laylee was a spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair draws from the classic Donkey Kong Country as a 2.5D platformer.

In Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, Yooka and Laylee must collect items and abilities to take on Capital B. Defeating the Impossible Lair is a tough task. Still, to make it easier, the Royal Bee Guards can assist Yooka and Laylee through their challenges.

The game also features an overworld not only to connect each of the levels but includes puzzles and collectibles to find.

What is surprising is how recent of a game this is to be in a free promotion. While other games in the 12 Days of Free Games have been out for a couple of years, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair came out in October of this year.

Epic Dishes Out Free Games and Sales for the Holidays

The 12 Days of Free Games is a special promotion run by Epic that gives out a free game every day for the holidays. Some of the games in this promotion include Faster Than Light and The Talos Principle.

In addition to 12 Days of Free Games, Epic is also running its own holiday sale. The sale features games for up to 75% off and includes a $10 off coupon.

Remember to pick up Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair quick, as it will only be available for free for today only.
