Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 started the Xbox Showcase with fire and convinced many fans to buy Treyarch’s next entry. The game is up for pre-orders in available digital stores including PSN, Microsoft Xbox, Steam and Battle.Net. However, when you go in for details, the file size for Black Ops 6 is listed as 310 GB! That’s just extremely out of hand, but Call of Duty has got your back, people; no worries.
Discovered by players and fans and shared in the community, Black Ops 6 listing as a 310 GB game created a new buzz. Call of Duty is infamously known for its gigantic updates and space-eating titles. Mixing that with an upcoming game that will give the task of downloading more than 300 GB just to follow Frank Woods and the Black Ops story is ridiculous.
However, in a blog post on X by Call of Duty Updates, it’s been officially confirmed that the Black Ops 6 file size isn’t 310 GB as currently listed. The number shown on the stores is for the entirety of the Call of Duty HQ, including all the released content for Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, Warzone, and the downloadable content for Black Ops 6.
According to the official notice, Black Ops 6‘s file size will be revealed soon as we get closer to the game’s release. Once out, you’ll have the option to download or delete any part of Call of Duty HQ’s titles and game modes to manage your free space on your console or PC. This transition was made with the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in 2022, and it’ll remain the same for switching between the games and modes with Black Ops 6 and Warzone in 2024 – 2025.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to release on October 25, 2024 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
