Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is nearing its one-year anniversary, and within that time, the game has already hit 50 million players. Not only that, but in the year after its release, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel introduced 3v3 and 5v5 team battles and added casual duels as well. The game is now getting a Secret Pack called Alba Abyss.
The Alba Abyss pack brings additional cards to Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel based on Fallen of Albaz’s Fusion Summoning effects that can rope in dragons like Alba-Lenatus. Other than that, there are also Albaz the Ashen and a Trap Card called Branded Banishment.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Hits 50 Million Downloads
Just like when Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel reached 40 million downloads in July, Konami will give 1,000 bonus Gems to anyone who logs in to celebrate, as well as a Five-Headed Dragon Protector sleeve.
Fallen of Albaz is a level four Monster-type Dark Dragon/Effect card with an ATK of 1,800 and a DEF of zero. The effect reads, “If this card is Normal or Special Summoned (except during the Damage Step): You can discard 1 card; Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters on either field as Fusion Material, including this card, but you cannot use other monsters you control as Fusian Material. You can only use this effect of “Fallen of Albaz” once per turn.”
Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel reached 50 million downloads in only nine months after its release for free on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, mobile, and PC. The 1,000 login bonus on offer is quite generous as it is enough to buy ten booster packs or multiple Structure decks.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel reaching 50 million downloads is not all that surprising when you take into account that the game had four million downloads in just one week when it launched. The downloads continue to add up, and it shows that the Yu-Gi-Oh! the fanbase is here to stay.
