With the live action movie being a major disappointment for fans. Seeing this fan-produced character select screen is so tempting and surprising that developers haven’t jumped at this idea yet. Reddit’s gaming subreddit, a Redditor by the name of _Robbie who created an image that showed how the design of an Avatar: The Last Airbender game would potentially look. This “game” would contain both series Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. On the Select screen, you have the options Aang and Korra as the selected characters. The photo also contains characters from both series you see, Zuko’s uncle Iroh to the Earth Kingdom Cabbage Salesman included.
You notice in the photo that characters are missing; most fans are suspecting more added. The buzz coming from Reddit over this picture is insane. In the fan-fiction world, millions of things can happen, but it looks as if this game were to exist people would be going nuts. Most of the comments refer to the nick.com game, Avatar: Arena. There are multiple games on PC especially on the nick website, however, none measure up to this one photo. It’s an Avatar vs. Korra fighting game, and with enough characters shared in both series with unique powers and abilities, it’s something that wouldn’t be too out of the question for a developer to pick up.
There have been other games created, but this would be the first traditional fighting game either series has gotten. Avatar: The Last Airbender, was released back in 2006 for systems like the PlayStation 2 and the Wii. Another with The Burning Earth added was released the next year, both published by THQ. The Legend of Korra got a game in 2014 that was developed by PlatinumGames and published by Activision. The games were good to incorporate the elements and fighting styles. However, there has never been a fighting game focused on the characters and their abilities. A game with this content would be fantastic, like Tekken for Avatar.
These characters touch us emotionally in ways we relate. Why wouldn’t there be a game we could rock out on. Most games like One Piece: Burning blood or Naruto: Ninja Storm has multiple titles on multiple platforms. We want the ONE game. Who would you pick to play as if this game was a reality?
