E3 is around a month away, general tickets have sold out and many of the big publishers have secured their conference times. However today we found out that publisher Devolver Digital will have their first ever E3 conference this year. You may know Devolver Digital from the many independent titles they’ve released over the last few years, including Hotline Miami, Titan Souls, OlliOlli 2 and Broforce. The developer will also be releasing the hotly anticipated Absolver, later this year.
The publisher released this tweet through their Twitter account, “Devolver Digital will have an E3 press conference this year. Please stay tuned for a time and date.”
So there are very few details at this point. No date, no time and no location. Do we know about Devolver’s Indie Picnic? Across the street from the LA Convention Center’s South Hall – next door to Hooters is Devolver’s Indie Picnic. Indie Picnic will include a public access area offering a curated lineup of game demos from Devolver Digital, plus Indie MEGABOOTH, X-Split, and Gambitious. The event will run from June 13-15, 7 am until 11 pm, and will be open to all badge holders of any tier. However, Devolver wants it to be clear, that this is a separate event from their press conference.
Devolver Digital co-founder Mike Wilson said, “This is the week the entire industry and fans everywhere celebrate video games as entertainment and art with numerous events now happening across Los Angeles. Indie Picnic is our way of giving back to the fans and celebrating a mutual love for games and art.”
