Roseanne Barr is ready to wage war against President Joe Biden. The comedian, who is a staunch supporter of Donald Trump, took her humor to a new level in a jarring post. Barr stirred the pot on social media, letting the world know whose side she is on in the matter of E. Jean Carroll v. Donald Trump. However, she couldn’t help but drag Biden into the mess.
Roseanne Barr Believes All Women, Not E. Jean Carroll
Roseanne Barr set X, formerly called Twitter, on fire on Tuesday when she poked fun at the sexual assault case between E. Jean Carroll and Donald Trump. She uploaded a 42-second clip taken at a Bergdorf Goodman store, the alleged scene of Trump’s sexual assault crimes. Barr, dressed casually in jeans and a white sweater, looked disheveled as someone asked, “What happened, ma? We’re in Bergdorf. Are you ok?”
The Roseanne star opened her mouth in shock as she told the person behind the camera, “No, I’m not okay because I just had a horrible flashback—a horrible memory.” She then moved closer to the camera and dropped a bombshell.
“I just realized that 26 years ago, Joe Biden raped me right there in that dressing room. In the shoe department.”
Barr continued, trying not to laugh as she said, “He raped me right here in the shoe department at Bergdorf Goodman. I’m not okay. I need to sue.” The 71-year-old further drove home her joke with the hashtags, “#believeallwomen,” “#meshoe” — a play on the #metoo movement — and #loosemeat.”
In 2019, Carroll accused the former president of sexually assaulting her in the Bergdorf Goodman store in New York. The alleged assault, which she claimed happened in late 1995 or early 1996, birthed two lawsuits against the 45th president. Earlier this year, the jury sided with Carroll, and Trump was ordered to pay $88.3 million in damages. The verdict is currently being appealed.
Roseanne Barr’s Post Causes An Uproar, Fans Divided
Although Roseanne Barr might have meant her post to be a joke, the Internet didn’t take it that way completely. Fans have been divided over the upload.
“You are a horrible person for this vileness. Sexual assault is not a comedy skit,” one fan lamented, to which Barr replied, “I would never insult a sexual assault victim. I was talking about E. Jean Carroll.” Another disappointed fan penned, “I’ve always loved and defended you but this isn’t cool. This isn’t something to joke about. Have a great day…” A similar comment read,
“If you see it, report it. This vile witch’s time in the spotlight needs to come to an end. Barr needs to be held legally and culturally accountable for this viscous behavior.”
Others, however, seemed to find the humor in Barr’s video and applauded her for speaking the truth. One fan wrote, “Time for Rosanne to drag Biden into court and make him pay millions of dollars. It apparently is just that easy.” Another fan remarked, “Priceless! Thank you, Roseanne; I needed that. Keep exposing their hypocrisy.” More comments read, “LMAO – I love this woman!!!! Also, this lie would be far easier to believe than the one they ran with!”
