The road to experiencing the beginnings of one of MI6’s most iconic spies is right around the corner. While most questions about 007 First Light have already been answered, especially due to the many gameplay showcases and trailers we’ve seen, some players were a bit concerned about how the game would run on base PS5 and PS5 Pro. Well, there’s no need to be afraid anymore, because IO Interactive has given us information today regarding the performance of 007 First Light on PS5 consoles, and it is good news to many gamers out there.
007 First Light Will Aim for 60 FPS on Both PS5 Consoles
Today, IO Interactive shared through the game’s X account that the upcoming 007 First Light would hit 60 FPS on both PS5 Pro and base PS5. However, there’s a catch with the latter: it will offer performance and quality modes, with the former offering players the 60 FPS option.
The footage you can see in the above clip comes from PS5 Pro, and it certainly looks smooth, with no hiccups or frame drops, especially during action sequences and some combat encounters.
While this is certainly good news for many gamers who own the PS5 Pro, several users have still been asking for base PS5 footage, and IO Interactive has only mentioned both graphical modes. Alongside confirming performance mode for 007 First Light, quality mode will hit 30 FPS and improve the game’s visuals.
So far, people have been glad with how the studio has handled concerns about performance, especially since the PC specs were revealed. IO Interactive mentioned that the PC specs are all done without the need to turn on DLSS, meaning players might not have to resort to this technology to hit 60 FPS or more, depending on the graphical preset.
At the time of writing, IO Interactive hasn’t mentioned anything regarding the performance on Xbox Series X|S consoles, but many believe that it will be the same as base PS5, with maybe some limitations on the Xbox Series S. Yet, that’s just speculation by the community, and we’ll likely learn about that in the next couple of days as we approach launch day.
