With the help of these DMZ tips, you’ll be able to accomplish your missions much faster. The DMZ mode is still branded as beta, but it can give you permanent rewards to use in both Warzone 2 and MW2. However, suppose you lack experience in this mode. In that case, you might struggle to complete missions or recognize certain items and locations. That’s why we’re providing 10 important DMZ tips to turn any newcomer into a DMZ professional. Let’s get started!
10. 3-Plates Armor is Always Necessary
When you start playing DMZ, you’ll have a plate carrier that looks to belong to an NPC. You can only apply one armor plate to it, and that’s it. So first things first, you’re gonna need a 3-plate armor vest for gun fights and battles. Now the best way to do so is by completing a Raid Weapon Stash contract.
These contracts mark a Stronghold on the map for you, which you can open without needing a certain key. There’ll be good loot and weapons inside, but the main objective is to crack open a big safe inside the building. Open it, and you’ll gain yourself an early level-3 vest. You should also remember to buy extra armor plates from the Buy Stations with your earned money.
9. Pick Your Third Weapon With a New Backpack
Following the previous DMZ tip, When you open the safe in the Raid Weapon Stash contract, you’ll find a large backpack inside it. The good thing is that more than a pair of vests and backpacks will be inside this safe. You can cover a squad of three with one of these contracts, and then you’re good to go on your missions.
However, if you can’t find a Raid Weapon Stash contract near your spawn location, remember to buy a medium backpack from a shop. A medium backpack is not as good as a large one. But you can still manage to store a third weapon inside it. This will help you a lot, especially if you’re on a mission to go inside the Koschei Complex.
8. Don’t Forget The Personal Exfil
If you check your HUD, there’s a timer on the left side of your screen. This is a countdown on when the radiation gets to cover the whole map. You should always keep an eye on this timer while doing missions to time your exfil. However, it’s easy to lose track of time while playing DMZ.
When you approach the final minutes of the game, all the exfil points will be removed one after another. The game will mark the last exfil point. If you miss it, you’re done — or are you? You just need a Radiation Blocker or Durable Gas Mask to make a trick work. Keep a total of $50,000 with you, and you can call a Personal Exfil from any Buy Station, even in the radiation zone.
7. Your Friends’ Missions Are Yours As Well
This is the very basic information you need to start playing the DMZ mode. You’re playing the correct game if you’re a squad player and enjoy progressing with your friends! In Warzone 2 DMZ mode, all of your squad member’s missions have a cross-progression system. If you do your teammate’s objectives, it still counts for them, and the same goes for your missions.
So the critical DMZ tip is having a squad with the same missions. If you all pick the same set of objectives, you’ll end up finishing them together. It means that if your mission is to kill a certain DMZ boss, for example, you can kill him together and mark the missions as complete for all three of you.
6. Always Pack a DDOS in Your Bag
This is one of those rare DMZ tips that you may not take seriously during your first several extractions. But as you play more, you’ll realize how handy this field upgrade can be! Having a problem with destroying the Wheelson on Ashika Island and Building 21? Have you been knocked countless times while trying to scrap an AI sentry in Koschei Complex? Or maybe you’re just dealing with bosses and looking to gain an advantage over them in combat. Well, DDOS is there for you!
The DDOS is a field upgrade you can use to disarm enemy electric gadgets and weapons. Using it will give you a few seconds to pass mines, traps, and sentries. Also, if an enemy vehicle is coming close, you can use the DDOS and jam their control for a while; it is handy against the choppers.
5. Use Your Keys, But Not The Skeleton
When playing a fine DMZ match, you’ll probably find some keys. Now if you exfil with them, they’ll be stored in your backpack for the next deployment. However, many players put them in their stash for later use and never even pick them up until their stash is full. This is actually an excellent strategy for saving important keys for other missions. But you should use the keys if you’ve got no loot and want to deploy a drained active-duty operator.
For example, you pick an operator that has nothing but insured weapons to start with. Put a key for the selected map in your backpack, and loot the particular area to gain valuable loot, armor, vests, and backpacks. However, keep in mind to never lose a Skeleton Key for opening a random restricted building! These keys can open any door, and they are so rare. So you’d need them for missions. But if you’ve got no place to store your keys, then the next DMZ tip is for you.
4. Increase Your Stashes and Weapon Slots
Once in the DMZ main menu, check out the Upgrades section. This new menu is designed to determine what objectives you must complete to unlock various upgrades. For instance, you can unlock second and third insured weapon slots and increase your contraband weapons stash size and your keys stash size.
These upgrades and their objectives will certainly give you an edge in this game mode. This is one of those Warzone DMZ tips that can upgrade your game, as you’d have many more gadgets, keys, and chances for using insured weapons than your player opponents.
3. The SO-14 is A Dominator at DMZ
Marksman Rifle and Battle Rifle class is the bread and butter of the Warzone DMZ players. These weapons are the best when you’re fighting a bunch of enemy AI soldiers. With a weapon like the SO-14, you’re set for a battle!
This Battle Rifle uses AR ammo but delivers a near quality of a Marksman Rifle’s power like EBR-14. This is while you can mount a 50 rounds magazine on it and enjoy tapping targets one after another. Bonus DMZ tip: Use this build for your SO-14!
2. Always Team Up First in DMZ
Yes, killing other players is very satisfying, but this is DMZ! This game mode is objective-based, and if you get more people on your side, you’ll finish your missions faster. So turn on your mic, and communicate with other players nearby to add them to your squad. Once you have a 6-man squad, you can start performing two times faster and better with them.
In fact, among the DMZ tips so far, this one is the most important while playing the Warzone DMZ mode. Getting eliminated in DMZ is the last thing you want. So if you have more people with you, you’ll probably get revived even if other operators kill you during a match.
1. The Oasis DMZ Bunker On Top!
This is a DMZ tip for the Koschei Complex and those who want to take a shortcut inside. The Koschei Complex is a critical location to visit while completing many of the Warzone DMZ objectives. But it’s very dangerous, and if you’re not careful, you may just lose to other players and the ruthless AIs inside it. However, first, you need to know the best route to enter this area.
There’s a bunker on the north side of the Al Mazrah map called the Oasis entrance. This area has some guarding AI around it. And after you’ve eliminated them, you’ll find the way inside. This entrance is actually made to put you right behind the enemy lines. You’ll spawn behind the Factory Admin area with this bunker. And this means you can find access to the shop, fight the Rhino and Sniper bosses, and gather plenty of loot without even trying to open other doors and reach the Chemical Plant area.
