After waiting for many long years, Halo fans finally got a new, well-made Halo game. However, it was not the case when Halo Infinite was first shown to the public. The game was almost butchered because of its lame graphics and old depth of look. The game got delayed, and while everyone was expecting to be disappointed, 343 Industries surprised everyone with its game that turned out to be the best first-person shooter of 2021. The engaging gameplay and excellent design of Halo Infinite will make you fall in love with FPS games, so here are 10 games to play if you like Halo Infinite.
10. The Crysis Trilogy
When a game is made by Crytek studio, you can be assured the game’s graphics will blow your mind. The remastered version of the Crysis series is one the most beautiful looking game you can play on your consoles or PC. The original games of the Crysis series were considered as one of the main benchmarks for testing the quality and power of a PC. In the Crysis games, players will take control of soldiers with advanced nano suites that help them become super soldiers. The suit can make you invisible, powerful, or give you extra armor.
9. Cyberpunk 2077
Unlike their previous fantasy RPG game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunts, Cyberpunk 2077 was not a masterpiece when it was released. The PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game were incomplete, and the PC version, which was the better version of the game, suffered from many bugs. Fortunately, CD Projekt Red didn’t just set back. Instead, they put all their efforts into making Cyberpunk 2077 the game they wanted to be. After one year of its initial release, it is probably the best time to play Cyberpunk 2077. For the first time, CDPR has made a first-person shooter that is engaging and fun like Halo Infinite. It also has rich RPG elements and a fantastic story that would make you want to finish the story as soon as possible.
8. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
The founding father of first-person shooters, the Wolfenstein series is one of the best and fast-paced first-person shooters of all time. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is the latest installment of the series, set in an alternative history in which Nazis have won the Second World War. The real beauty of Wolfenstein II is its unique identity as an FPS game, making it one of a kind. If you are looking for a game with similar hardcore shooting fights like Halo Infinite, you will enjoy slaying hundreds of Nazis in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.
7. Destiny 2
Bungie created the Halo franchise for Microsoft, so if there is a game very much like Halo Infinite, then it must be Bungie’s Destiny 2. Destiny 2 is a free-to-play game with in-game purchases set in a mythic science fiction world where players can compete or finish the story missions together. Since its release, the game has received many DLCs, the latest being The Witch Queen, which has received positive feedback. Destiny 2 is probably the most similar game to Halo Infinite that you can play.
6. Apex Legends
If you are looking for a fun online shooter with similar elements to Halo Infinite, then Apex Legends would be an excellent option for you. It’s a free-to-play battle royal-hero shooter that players fight each other in squads of two and three players. Each character has its own signature ability to serve players the way they prefer to fight in a match. Like every battle-royal game, players would scavenge the place for weapons and ammo and then engage in the fight. The cel shade style of the game makes it more unique than other battle royal games.
5. Rage 2
Rage 2 is the bloodier version of Halo Infinite set in the desert instead of rich and high-end progressed planets. The most fun part of Rage 2 is the hilarious and glorious combats you can get yourself into. The game was designed specifically to blow up stuff, set everything on fire, and enjoy the chance to do whatever you want in a post-apocalyptic world. If you don’t care much about a well-written story or rich lore, Rage 2 is probably the game you are looking for.
4. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is the type of spin-off that has more fans than the original game. Set in a retro-futuristic kind of era, Blood Dragon is fun, good-looking, and one of the best DLCs ever made. Players take control of a cyborg named Sergeant Rex “Power” Colt with many futuristic, cool-looking guns that seem like T-1000 have brought with themselves from the future. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is a short game, unlike the previously mentioned games. You can have a quick and friendly reminder of Halo Infinite by playing this excellent DLC.
3. Doom Eternal
If Wolfenstein was the founding father of FPS games, Doom was the genius successor that turned it into the next big trend of the era. The latest installment of the Doom series, Doom Eternal, is the demonic version of Halo games. Instead of fighting and killing ugly aliens, you would go deep down into hell and blow up evil creatures with a rocket launcher. If you haven’t noticed yet, just look at the suit of Doomguy and Master Chief to notice the similarity.
2. Killzone Shadow Fall
Before Guerilla Games got busy making their new futuristic open-world action-adventure, Horizon Zero Dawn, they were mostly known for their FPS game series called Killzone. Even though we haven’t heard from this series in a long time, it is still worth it to play the latest game of the series, Killzone Shadow Fall. The game is set 30 years after the events of Killzone 3, so if you want to know what is going on in the game, watch a recap video or play the whole series. Doing the latter would be much more enjoyable.
1. Titanfall 2
After the success of Titanfall, Respawn knew they wanted to expand the fanbase of Titanfall; therefore, they added a story mode to Titanfall 2, which was considered one of the best narrative experiences of that year. Just like the previous game, players would control the Titan and its pilot. The story is basically exploring the relationship between the pilot and his Titan, which was an emotional journey in the case of Titanfall 2.
