Once you complete a great game, you may want something to continue to scratch that itch. If you want to play something similar to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, we have recommendations on games you might like. Respawn Entertainment showed its influences by the gameplay style of its Star Wars duology, so we have come up with plenty of things to match those different inspirations.
Playing Jedi: Survivor, like its predecessor, you can come up with games like it. It is a Metroidvania with light Dark Souls qualities. Whether you want that or another Star Wars swashbuckling adventure, you have an endless list of games to keep you busy. We have plenty to recommend and will hopefully have something that catches your eye.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
The enemies’ stamina in Respawn’s Star Wars action-adventure game is like a toned-down version of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. FromSoftware took its Soulslike genre and gave it a refreshing new take with an aggressive yet patience-focused combat. It was all about parrying to break one’s stance. While Jedi: Survivor was more than that if you wanted a similar combat style, Sekiro ramps it up to a visceral level. Add in FromSoftware’s brilliant level design and epic boss battles; Sekiro is a good replacement for the lightsaber as you grab a katana to battle this fantastical version of the Sengoku period in Japan’s history.
Dark Souls 3
When Fallen Order was first released, people made Dark Souls comparisons. Jedi: Survivor continues to lean into those inspirations, which is why if you want games like it, Dark Souls 3 is a perfect choice. It polishes the formula set from its predecessors while becoming quicker and more aggressive. The trilogy is tough enough, and this might be the hardest one. Those up for a challenge will be rewarded with satisfying victories and eye-opening, jaw-dropping locations for you to explore.
God of War Ragnarok
Throw a Star Wars skin on it, and God of War Ragnarok is the closest to any games like Jedi: Survivor out in the wild. Its Metroidvania style leads you to come back to areas for more collectibles or to uncover fascinating secrets. Its combat may not have stances, but the three weapons you will gain make Kratos play like Cal Kestis, just with more rage. Its open zones match the planets like Koboh, allowing you to explore without the massive weight of true open world games.
Similarly to Cal’s story, which remains open to be concluded or continued, Ragnarok does the same for Kratos and Atreus. Where the franchise goes next is unknown, but the current finale delivers a sweet, epic dessert that satisfies a hunger for a powerful story. After completing Cal’s latest adventure, hopping over to see where Kratos and his son go will fill you with many of the same emotions.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2
Respawn lets you be a Jedi, but if you had the choice to go either the light or dark side, that would create more interesting things to happen. Knights of the Old Republic 2 might be getting a remake, but if you cannot wait to scratch that Jedi itch, diving into this classic is your best bet. It remains one of the best Star Wars games ever made for a good reason. Meaningful choices and an impactful loot system make this one of the best RPGs, even if, in some areas, it feels a little dated.
Batman: Arkham City
If you want an open world, not many games have similar qualities like Batman: Arkham City to jump onto after Jedi: Survivor. Rocksteady’s masterpiece delivers an open city that lets Batman fight crime and solve mysteries as the World’s Greatest Detective. While Respawn nailed the feel of using the Force and a lightsaber for the best Jedi experience, Rocksteady found how stepping into the Bat suit would feel. While the studio completes that feeling in Arkham Knight, City has a stronger story that will balance the taste you have for Jedi: Survivor‘s narrative and gameplay.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
If you want to revisit the classic Skywalker story, doing it with the cute twist of Lego Star Wars will make for a fun time after some of the emotional devastation of the final act of Jedi: Survivor. It faithfully retells the story of the movies, with some liberties taken for family fun.
At the core, the games lean heavily into that Metroidvania style. As you unlock the 384 characters, you gain access to parts of levels that were inaccessible before. It leaves you with creative solutions to go as far as you want in completing every task and gathering every collectible. You will surely have countless hours in the universe to fill your appetite.
Star Wars Battlefront II
The reboot of Star Wars Battlefront II was in rough shape at launch. Today, the developers have found a balance between its vision and what fans wanted for epic online battles. Jump into the shoes of rebel fighters and stormtroopers with opportunities of Jedi and Sith lords for a well-rounded Star Wars experience. You get to feel the various weapons and powers while traveling across the galaxy to all sorts of environments brought to life with high graphical fidelity.
Elden Ring
FromSoftware blended its brand of action RPGs with an open world that spoke to the model formed by Breath of the Wild to craft Elden Ring. It became an award-winning bestseller in 2022 for a reason after the company had slowly built up an audience over the years. By going open world, it created its most approachable game by letting players decide where to go, so you can ditch a hard boss to get stronger elsewhere.
While not reminiscent of Jedi: Survivor, when it comes to games like Respawn’s Star Wars sequel, Elden Ring may not seem like the obvious choice. If Dark Souls and Sekiro satisfy your taste for something after finishing the sequel, Elden Ring will devour hours with plenty of frustration and fun.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
Star Wars has always balanced action, drama, and levity for its galactic adventures. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy delivers all that with a new twist to the once-obscure comic book characters who rose to the mainstream through the MCU. For comic book or movie fans, it has plenty of characters and places to catch your attention, with some pieces of its story to give you surprises.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
The Force Unleashed broke ground in 2008 for a Jedi experience unlike any other. It showed the power of the Force with detailed destruction and robust ragdolls. Out of any Star Wars games like Jedi: Survivor, The Force Unleashed is the next best in giving the feeling of what it is like to step into the shoes of a Jedi.
You can also feel like a Jedi from the sequel, The Force Unleashed 2, but it has pros and cons. The level design and customization improve, but the story does not reach the bar from the predecessor, and its difficulty is too easy. If you want to complete that story and compare the two – and if you are that big of a Star Wars fan – then you should put the sequel on your list, too.
