A photo has surfaced that shows Tom Holland, the actor who will play Spider-Man in the upcoming Civil War, on the set of Scott Dickerson’s Doctor Strange.
The actor is posing with director Scott Derrickson and Louis D’Esposito, Marvel’s co-President. The photo appeared on D’Esposito’s Twitter account. The co-president has quite a few pictures with members of the crew, such as VFX Stef Ceretti, and production designer Charles Wood.

It seems obvious that D’Esposito visited the set of Dr. Strange to see how the production was progressing, but Holland’s photo may stand out in particular. It may be a short post-credit scene, but it may also be an actual cameo in the film. From the other set photos, as well as the position of the green screen, it looks like they were on set of the film’s Sanctum Sanctorum.
It would make sense of further introduce Spider-Man in Doctor Strange. The wall-crawler has a very playful and interesting student-mentor relationship with the Sorcerer Supreme in the comics. Both are men of science, and both are forced to confront the believable and unbelievable as costumed superheroes. It would also be an interesting turn in how Marvel interconnects their cinematic universe, with a more organic approach in how superheroes meet. Spider-Man is one of the most famous names in comics, so it may also draw more viewers to Doctor Strange.
