Though many players are already loving HoYoverse’s newest Gacha game, Honkai: Star Rail, some new players of the genre are looking for more games like it to play. Though they can sometimes be decently costly, Gacha games can more often than not be enjoyed by a free-to-play audience, featuring grinding mechanics and special events to give all players a chance at rolling for new characters. For those who love Honkai: Star Rail’s grinding and Warping systems, here are four Gacha games that are like Honkai: Star Rail: Genshin Impact, Fate: Grand Order, Fire Emblem Heroes, and Arknights.

For people that don’t know, a Gacha game is any game that uses a lottery-style system in order to obtain new items, most notably characters. Gacha games, like Honkai: Star Rail, often have players earn resources by purchasing them or grinding, which translates directly to rolls. Players will then be able to spend these rolls on various banners for the chance to get new characters and items. Players often roll for new and unique characters, especially those only available for a limited run. Although these games can take a lot of luck, spending a considerable amount of roles on one banner often can translate to a guaranteed chance to receive the character featured in the banner.

Genshin Impact Comes From The Same Company As Honkai: Star Rail

Genshin Impact is another popular Gacha game by the company HoYoverse, and the last game the company released before Honkai: Star Rail. Overall, Genshin Impact is a lot like Honkai: Star Rail. Both games feature similar systems for daily quests and similarities between their currency and banner cycles. For example, Stellar Jade in Honkai: Star Rail translates exactly to Primogems found in Genshin Impact. Both convert nicely as well, with 160 Primogems and Stellar Jade both equaling one roll.

Additionally, certain gameplay factors carry over as well. Genshin Impact’s weapons are like Honkai: Star Rail’s Light Cones, Artifacts are like Relics, and so on. Due to this, new players to the Gacha genre and Honkai: Star Rail should easily adjust to a game like Genshin Impact.

Fate: Grand Order Is A Famous Example Of A Gacha Game Like Honkai: Star Rail

Fate: Grand Order is another extremely popular Gacha game like Honkai: Star Rail that new players should check out. Based on the Fate anime series, Fate: Grand Order, often shortened to Fate: GO, is a turn-based strategy Gacha game that uses famous figures and characters throughout history as playable characters. Combat-wise, Fate: GO is a lot closer to Honkai: Star Rail, featuring strategic, turn-based action, complete with special abilities and rechargeable ultimates. However, instead of an elemental system like Honkai: Star Rail has, certain classes of character in Fate: GO will do more damage to other classes. Overall, Fate: GO is a perfect experience for players who are fans of the Fate series or looking for combat that’s similar to what Honkai: Star Rail has to offer.

Fire Emblem Heroes Is A Gacha Game For Nintendo Fans

Next up, another Gacha game like Honkai: Star Rail is Fire Emblem Heroes. Based on Nintendo’s Fire Emblem franchise, Fire Emblem Heroes brings together classic characters throughout the series. Combat in this game takes on the tactical strategy of original Fire Emblem entries, having players move units around the battlefield and using different kinds of troops to get an advantage. Nintendo fans, or regulars of the Fire Emblem series, would feel right at home with this entry. This game can also link to a My Nintendo account, allowing players to complete quests and earn online rewards. Although, similar to Fate: GO, this game may seem a bit niche. Even if you aren’t a Fire Emblem fan, Fire Emblem Heroes is a worthwhile Gacha game.

Arknights Brings Tower-Defense To Gacha Games

The final Gacha game that Honkai: Star Rail fans might like is Arknights. Set in a post-apocalyptic future, characters called operators can be placed and used as units in tower-defense-style combat. The game, much like Honkai: Star Rail, is very free-to-play friendly, and with enough grinding, players can complete all of the missions available in the game. Despite this, like most of these games, unless players spend money, they will be unable to unlock all the characters. Overall, the Gacha game Arknights keeps a similar atmosphere and sci-fi genre of Honkai: Star Rail, yet still creates a strong universe without any source material.
