Trials of the Blood Dragon was revealed today at Ubisoft’s E3 press conference.
The bizarre crossover mixes the adrenaline fueled, neon filled world of Blood Dragon with the crazy action, physics and acrobatics of the Trials series. The first trailer showcased a futuristic cityscape, with neon-lined skyscrapers rising in the background as the players soars over chasms and takes plenty of death defying jumps in the foreground.
But the game isn’t sticking to earth for this release. There are plenty of jumps to take and flips to do in space, which will be a big departure for the series.
While the series has typically stuck to vehicles, Trials of the Blood Dragon lets players hop off their bike to run along the rooftops, taking down enemies with a plethora of weapons. The action has been elevated to another level thanks to the crossover, which has allowed the traditional Trials gameplay to try new and exciting things.
The last trials game was Trails Fusion, which released in 2014. It also took place in a highly technological city, but Blood Dragon injects the series with 80s style and more machismo than you find in a Duke Nukem game.
