After many rumors swirling around the internet leading up to E3, Sony’s press conference confirmed the existence of the Playstation 4 exclusive Spider-Man game.
The titled is being developed by insomniac Games, makers of the Ratchet and Clank, and Resistance franchises. The first trailer began with a voiceover from Peter Parker before the web-slinger himself leapt on screen, settling against the wall of an old brick building.
Gameplay showed Spidey swinging over the city, leaping from table to table in a crowded cafe and beating the snot out of plenty of baddies. The action looked fast fluid, and beautiful, with the graphics striking a balance between a comic book and reality.
Very few details were given in the trailer, but Spider-Man is seen sporting a new suit. The red and blue patterns are the same, but a large white spider symbol adorns his chest. There are also black lines across his shoulders and arms, much like the design for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Past Spider-Man games have disappointed, but this title has all the makings of a great game – at least so far. No release date or official title were given, but we are sure to see more soon.
