Collaborations between fashion and video games aren’t new nowadays. We go from just t-shirts with prints of our favorite characters to well-known designer clothing brands creating really cute outfits inspired by video games. I love my printed t-shirts, but I’m excited to have the opportunity to dress up as my favorite character without looking like I’m going to the nearest anime or comic convention. And if you’re in the same boat as I am, I have a few fashion tips for you.

Pokemon

In both video games and anime, there are a variety of characters in different outfits. Even the main characters show off their swimsuit, clothes for the cold, and outfits for Pokemon contests. However, Serena’s is one of the cutest and easiest outfits to replicate and one of my favorites. With a pleated skirt and a short-sleeved collared blouse, you should have the basics. Of course, this trainer knows about styling, so to complete the look, you need black tights, black sneakers, preferably Converse, and a maxi bag in a color similar to your skirt. Get a matching hat and a pair of sunglasses for the ultimate look.

Final Fantasy

Square Enix knows how to create heroines with different styles, and the franchise that shows this best is Final Fantasy, with its plethora of worlds we can visit. Among the protagonists who came first to my mind was Lightning, especially since she’s collaborated with clothing designers. However, I picked the one and only, the cute and feminine Aerith, with that flowy summer dress in pastel pink. Finding a red leather jacket with short sleeves would be ideal, but one with long sleeves will also do the trick. Also, Aerith thinks about her own comfort, and for walking around those long distances, those dark boots are a better choice of footwear. Don’t forget bracelets and a long necklace to complete your look.

Cyberpunk

In Cyberpunk, as Edgerunners, what stands out the most is the style of the whole environment; this is reflected in the buildings, the clothes, and even the people’s physical characteristics. More than being inspired by a specific character of this video game, I did it in all this lifestyle, and to replicate it, techwear is the proper clothing. The techwear includes:

  • Many garments with iridescent and reflective materials.
  • Some more sporty details with many pockets.
  • Even some digital gadgets.

It also incorporates alternative hairstyles, such as bright colors or daring haircuts. Just don’t try to put any chrome implants. We are not responsible for any cybernetic failures, so don’t try that at home.

Fortnite

No one can deny the impact Fortnite has had outside of its game. Wacky dances aside, there are many outfits inspired by this live-service video game. The best examples are some of Ariana Grande’s skins because some could perfectly appear in her concerts. One of her nicest outfits in Fortnite is the one from the Rift Tour. The one that I thought about the most to recreate is the one that doesn’t have any crystals. Of course, you can find that material, but to simplify our lives, you can get the same effect with a white pleated skirt and crop top. It would be perfect if you had some big star earrings, and the necklace could be a shiny pearl one. For the shoes, if you don’t have long white boots, you can achieve something similar with high heels and white tights.

League of Legends

I love the outfits of many of Riot’s female characters, but some stand out, and that’s K/DA. The video game group is completely inspired by the aesthetics of the K-pop groups, and it shows in their cute outfits. Among the ones I would choose to recreate would be K/DA All Out Evelynn, with a black pencil skirt, a crop top/bustier, and some imitation leather harnesses. Evelynn wears white heels with ankle straps and black tights. You could wear a short sporty iridescent jacket or a white one to complete the outfit.

Thanks to more brands, small businesses, and the internet, it is more accessible to find more types of accessories and clothing. I wouldn’t refuse to look in thrift stores to find something similar. Furthermore, remember this guide isn’t aimed at those who want to cosplay. It is more for those who want to pay homage to their favorite characters while remaining stylish.
