Are you struggling to solve today’s Wordle and are running low on attempts? You know that the final two letters of the word are “ER” but you don’t have other clues. Unlike puzzles such as Byrdle, these words don’t have a specific niche and are used in everyday conversation. But with limited attempts, you can’t copy tactics like you would for Jumble and try every letter in every position. After six attempts, you lose your hard-earned streak and must start from the beginning. Fortunately, some tips and a list of 5 letter words ending with ER can help you maintain your streak.

It’s unlikely you will go through all the words to find the answer. Here are some tips to help you narrow down the possibilities:

  • Look at the clues you already have. There are some letters you know are incorrect because you already tried a few attempts. Eliminate those words and you will reduce the words you must search through.
  • Try unique letter words first. Uncovering all five letters will help you decide which letters to focus on. You should only try duplicate letter words if you can’t seem to get past four correct letters. That is the most likely sign that the answer has duplicate letters.

If you still can’t find today’s word and are down to your last try, you can check today’s Wordle answer to maintain your streak. To practice using this list on past puzzles, you can search an old Wordle archive and give it a go.
