Resident Evil remakes have been a treat in recent years. We saw classic games in a new light; many gamers have loved that. Thankfully, Capcom wants to continue this trend, and not only with mainline entries. As you know, Resident Evil has some fantastic lore that gets better if you play some of the spin-offs. These games are fantastic, and while they might not be as commercially successful as the numbered ones, they are a must-play for fans. With that in mind, here are the 5 Resident Evil spin-offs that could use a remake in the future.
1. Resident Evil: Dead Aim
This might be an unexpected game to start our list of Resident Evil spin-offs that need a remake, but Dead Aim was a fantastic game in its time. It had amazing, fun gunplay that combined third-person exploration with first-person shooting. This made encounters more terrifying and added another layer of suspense to the already scary title. This game stayed back on the PS2, and we have yet to see a remaster or remake. Hopefully, we’ll get the latter, as this game featured a fantastic plot that gave us more details about Umbrella Corporation.
2. Resident Evil: Outbreak
Resident Evil Outbreak is, without a doubt, one of the Resident Evil spin-offs that urgently need a remake. This game featured five scenarios that put us in the shoes of different survivors. There are some iconic locations in the game that many visited during Resident Evil 2 and 3, most notably The Hive and Racoon General Hospital. It was a game with several nods to the franchise and new stories that let us see what other survivors were doing while our franchise heroes escaped the city.
3. Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles
This game might not be high up on other people’s lists, but it is a great title. While it didn’t add many new things to the story and retconned a few plot points, it was fun to play. Albert Wesker narrated this game and provided several key points of the story. The highlight of this game was the secret ending you got if you finished all other scenarios, which took players to end Umbrella once and for all.
While it is uncertain if this would be up for a remake, getting the final mission as a DLC for any of the recent games would be nice. It has some fantastic features and provides a new character in the series that many fondly remember.
4. Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles
Similar to the abovementioned one, this title was an on-rails shooter that featured new and old stories. The highlight of this game was Operation Javier, which gets mentioned in Resident Evil 4 Remake. Getting The Darkside Chronicles remade would be fantastic for exploring Leon and Krauser’s relationship more in-depth.
Another thing that would be great for this game is Krauser’s story. Many only know about him through Resident Evil 4, which paints him as the bad guy. Yet, there’s more than meets the eye for this character, and he definitely deserves more screen time.
5. Resident Evil: Code Veronica
One of the most anticipated Resident Evil spin-offs that need a remake is Code Veronica. This game follows Claire after the events of Resident Evil 2 and introduces us to many key points of the series that are important in future games. Yes, you can understand the story if you play the numbered titles, but this game has amazing bits of lore that fans of the series need to see.
Out of all the mentioned spin-offs, this is the one that fans are really craving. Whether it gets here sooner or later, we hope we get a remake of this one instead of another numbered title.

We hope it happens because Resident Evil is one of the most beloved survival-horror franchises that we can’t stop playing.
