Sometimes, the culprits of a crime out themselves in their attempts to cover up their wrongdoings. That was the case for a Florida woman who called 911 to report domestic violence from her husband. Two rather big points to make in this case are that she weighs around 500 pounds, and her husband wasn’t the one in need of an arrest. Reportedly, her husband wasn’t giving the wife the help she wanted, resulting in a scuffle at home. Once the police arrived, they eventually realized the woman was the one who should be taken into custody. But she wasn’t going down without a bite.
You read that right. The 500-pound Florida woman attempted to chomp on the officer who tried to arrest her. “I went to handcuff her, she braced and pulled her hands towards her mouth and opened her mouth as if she was going to bite me. I then pulled my hand back,” the cop recalled, according to Local 10.
Eventually, a firefighter team had to get involved to escort the woman out of the house. As you might expect, she got violent with one of the firefighters and struck his hand. As a result, the woman was charged with “three third-degree felony charges of battery, resisting an officer with violence, and battery on a firefighter.”
Of course, the internet found such an arrest story rather entertaining. “You want me to go to jail? Better be good at deadlifting, bud,” joked a Reddit user. “Time to bring in the tactical forklift,” quipped another. “In her defense, she hadn’t had second breakfast yet,” laughed a third, referring to a fun quote from The Fellowship of the Ring. Besides her rather stout body weight, the Florida woman was also reported to have “mental issues.” Apparently, she had called 911 around 30 times since June this year, but most of them were medical-related requests.
Now that she’s in custody, it’s quite the mystery how the authorities plan to detain her. One commenter joked: “Save the taxpayers some money and just put her on house arrest. It’s not like she’s going anywhere.” As insensitive as that sounds, they aren’t wrong.
