Warframe is not about to slow down with its ideas and with a big reveal at the Tokyo Game Show 2024, it has unveiled its 58th Warframe, Koumei. But Digitial Extremes has done it again and made Koumei a unique new addition to the ever-growing roster of Warframes.
For starters, Koumei is the first Japanese-themed Warframe, which is fitting because she was unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show, alongside all the other games with Japanese themes and iconography. However, Koumei takes an even more thematic turn due to its abilities. All her abilities revolve around dice rolls and RNG, earning her the nickname, the “Dice-Maiden.”
Koumei Abilities in Warframe
Koumei’s abilities are as follows:

| (Passive) Shadow’s Trinity | When Koumei Rolls Triple 6s, one of her weapons inflicts random status effects for a duration |
| (1st Ability) Kumihimo | Weaves the threads of destiny, enemies who touch them suffer a random elemental status effect. A roll of triple 6s creates threads that will deal one of every elemental status effect type. |
| (2nd Ability) Omikuji | Koumei glimpses a favorable future and the precise steps needed to reach it. Complete the challenge presented to earn a Decree. A roll of triple 6s grants a Decree without having to complete a challenge. |
| (3rd Ability) Omamori | Surround yourself with Omamori charms, each with a chance to have enemy attacks heal you instead of damage you. The number of charms is determined by Koumei’s dice roll. A roll of triple 6s grants invulnerability for the duration of your Omamori charms. |
| (4th Ability) Bunraku | Wield your foes fate threads like the strings of marionettes. Koumei’s dice determines how many status effects foes in front of Koumei will suffer. A roll of triple 6s maximizes status effect stacks and extends Bunraku to enemies behind Koumei. |
Koumei Signature Weapons
In addition, Koumei comes with two signature weapons:

| (Primary) Higasa | Umbrella-gun with a burst fire and alt-fire mechanic and can block projectiles. |
| (Melee) Amanata | Naginata-inspired polearm. Every swing provides a random buff. |
As you can see, even Koumei’s signature weapons have a lot of RNG and gambling embedded in their gameplay mechanics. Builds are no doubt going to be wild and unconventional given how much randomness is involved in the mechanics.
All of this, along with new cosmetics options for Koumei, will be available once Warframe‘s Koumei and the Five Fates update gets released on October 2, 2024.
