Clay is one of the first and main resources that you will need to progress. There are many items you can use clay to craft, but the forge is probably the most important. For it, you will need to get 60 clay, which may seem like a lot at first glance, but with careful preparation, you can collect the necessary amount quite quickly.

Preparing for Clay Collection

To collect clay in 7 Days to Die, you don’t need to do anything complicated. All you have to do is just dig in the ground in any biome. You can do it with just your hands, but you’ll get much fewer resources than you would with tools. To increase your effectiveness, we recommend that you create a shovel. This is not difficult, because you can find all the necessary materials for crafting from the start of the game. For this, you need the following:

  • Wood x3
  • Plant Fibers x3
  • Small Stones x5

This is a stone shovel craft and it allows you to get 7 clay in 1 hit. It is more efficient than using your hands. In the future, you can create better shovels and they will bring even more resources per dig.
