One case was Josh Seiter, and everyone knows he was the one who started the rumor about himself. Not long after that, Karine reported that her husband had gone missing in Brazil. A day after that, she posted an in-memoriam video for him, which was even stranger.
So naturally, people thought Paul & Karine perpetrated the scam for attention. Come to find out that doesn’t seem to be the case. These two seem to be a victim in this as much as everyone else. We thought we would take a moment to shed some light on this whole situation.

What has since come to light since he vanished are some messages between him and his mother. In the text it was clear Paul was scared and was in need of assistance. He then reappeared online and that squashed the death rumor immediately. There were also people who thought that Karine was responsible. The simple reason behind that being that the couple were separated and dealing with a nasty custody battle. They most likely didn’t do this as a scam, as they don’t want to bring any more negative attention to the family.

The boat then broke down and he had no way of contacting anyone while adrift. It was in that time that Karine stated he was missing because, well, he was.
