More details have come to light concerning Artem Chigvintsev‘s recent arrest. The Dancing with the Stars pro was taken into custody in Napa Valley on Thursday on a felony domestic violence charge. At the time of the arrest, little information was given about the situation, with the victim requesting confidentiality. However, a 911 call from the incident might have confirmed fans’ worst fears.
The radio dispatch from Chigvintsev’s call reveals that the Russian dancer initially called for the paramedics but revealed that he and his wife, Nikki Garcia, were in an argument. In the transcript obtained by TMZ, a dispatcher can be heard saying:
“Initially came in as requesting medical, but now he is stating he got into an argument with his wife and his wife threw shoes at rp [reporting party].”
The dispatcher continued, “There is a child on scene. Medical en route. There’s an active 415 [disturbing the peace] in the background responsible.” As confirmed, Chigvintsev was the one who placed the 911 call around 8:30 AM after allegedly assaulting someone in his home. Although his call was to request medical assistance, he later changed his mind, telling the dispatcher not to bother.
The Paramedics and fire truck en route to the couple’s Napa Valley home turned back, but the police proceeded as per standard procedure. Upon getting there, authorities saw visible injuries on the alleged victim and arrested Chigvintsev for felony corporal injury to a spouse.
