Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel’s Avengers was officially revealed at E3 2019. You can see the full trailer down below:

In Marvel’s Avengers, you’ll be able to play as your favorite heroes ranging from Captain America to Iron Man in a 4-player co-op story that could potentially last years.  Square Enix has said as much, stating that more content and characters will be continuously added post-launch. According to the publisher, these new characters and DLC will be free. Square Enix also stated that Marvel’s Avengers will not have any pay-to-win mechanics or loot-boxes. These are big promises to make considering the type of game this is.

The roster for the game so far includes Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, and Ant-Man (The Hank Pym version of the character). Although Square Enix said we’ll get every post-launch character and story-based content at no additional cost, PS4 users will have access to exclusive content when the game releases (Guessing it’ll be something like the Insomniac Spidey suit?).

While we didn’t get to see any real gameplay here, it looks like Marvel’s Avengers will have a playable demo at E3 itself during the week. So, for those there at the expo, be sure to give it a look. And for everyone else, there’s a chance we could see that gameplay demo sometime this week via a live stream.

Marvel’s Avengers will release for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Google Stadia May 15th, 2020.

What were your thoughts on this reveal? Which Avenger are you hoping to play as when the game releases next year? Did you enjoy Square Enix’s E3 conference? If not, why?
