The San Diego Comic-Con has been a pretty eventful this year. A new Top Gun Sequel Maverick, Doctor Strange 2 and many other exciting new features to appear in the near future. One such panel was for the highly anticipated and incredibly secretive PS4 title Death Stranding.
Hideo Kojima was hosting the Death Stranding panel to talk about some news regarding the title but also reveal the box art. There will be two different covers found on the box. For the standard edition Walking Dead star Norman Reedus has taken on the main hero, Sam Bridges. His face can be seen in his spacesuit looking to the left, concerned. Whereas, the second box art for the steel cover special edition has the same pose only with his face deteriorated and sickly.
Hideo Kojima stated in a tweet (found below) that this was the final art for Death Stranding. Although there was nothing interesting found on the box art itself but only would bring more mystery to what the heck this game’s actually about.
Death Stranding has one of the most puzzling stories and has been vaguely described as a “Completely new action game..” Or, so says Hideo Kojima himself.
where the goal of the player is to reconnect isolated cities and a fragmented society. It is created so that all elements, including the story and gameplay, are bound together by the theme of the “Strand” or connection. As Sam Porter Bridges, you will attempt to bridge the divides in society, and in doing create new bonds or “Strands” with other players around the globe. Through your experience playing the game, I hope you’ll come to understand the true importance of forging connections with others.
Death Stranding will be PS4 exclusive title and releasing on November 8th, 2019.
