The Nintendo Switch finally has a pro controller with a built-in headphone jack, brought to you by PDP, who calls it the Faceoff Deluxe+ Audio wired controller. Nintendo has always been slow to bring new technology into their consoles, controllers, and handhelds, as PS4 and the Xbox One have had headphone jacks since their release. However, that doesn’t seem to stop Nintendo’s consistent increase in sales and global growth.
Officially licensed by Nintendo, PDP’s Faceoff Deluxe+ Audio ’10-foot’ wired controller, which looks similar to the Switch Pro Controller, features a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the center bottom of the controller just like the PS4 and Xbox One controllers.
However, that’s not all this controller packs. In addition, it has a function button by the right thumbstick that turns the up and down buttons on the directional pad into volume up and volume down buttons respectively. Also by double-tapping the function button it will mute the mic in games that support the Vivox’s in-game chat.
The plus and minus buttons on top of the controller are replaced with the view and home buttons. Then on the back, there are two programmable paddles which can be remapped to any button on the Faceoff Deluxe+ Audio wired controller.
The controller also comes in four colors: Black Camo, Blue Camo, Purple Camo, and Red Camo. As their name implies, it’s apart of PDP’s Faceoff system, which allows players to mix-and-match their controllers.
