All we know so far is the game is set for an October 2019 release. 2K has yet to reveal who will appear on the cover in this year’s edition. Those close to the project have hinted that Roman Reigns or Becky Lynch could grace the cover. Both Superstars are currently receiving a huge push within WWE.
Becky Lynch would be an inspired choice for the cover art as she’d be the first woman to do so. In an interview with ComicBook.com, Lynch discussed the possibility.
“Oh, I think it’s so important, absolutely,” Lynch said. “I mean, that’s been a goal. So yeah, that’s the next thing. That’s the next step, as well as just maintaining. It’s just a matter of being the top player, the biggest face of this company. To make your name in this business, that’s what I want. That’s what I’m shooting for, and the video game cover would be a nice little stepping stone.”
WWE 2K19 didn’t fare as well in its opening release as hoped. As a result, expect a larger marketing push this time around. It has been rumored that some huge names will be filming promos for the upcoming release. Superstars Sting, Paul Heyman, Charlotte Flair, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Roman Reigns, and Sasha Banks have all been involved. If that wasn’t enough star power, it also looks as if Stone Cold, Ric Flair, and the Hulkster are stepping up to do their part.
We’ll have to wait until Monday for more details, but 2K isn’t holding any punches this time around. Stay tuned to for more breaking news on WWE 2K20 in the near future!
