Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break has received a release window. The game is listed on the Xbox Canada website as “Available Spring 2016.”

Quantum Break was first announced at the Xbox One reveal event in 2013. The game had an original release date of 2014, but faced its second delay in April. Developer Remedy’s creative director Sam Lake commented on the delay.

“We are very proud to be part of the amazing line-up Xbox One. We thank our fans for their patience, and we want them to know that the team takes this opportunity to polish and refine the game to create an entertainment experience out of the ordinary.”

So essentially, the game was delayed to be tested and finalized. For reference, here’s a gameplay demo of Quantum Break from Gamescom 2014:

Since the delay, the CEO of Remedy, Matias Myllyrinne, left the company after 15 years. He offered some insight on Quantum Break’s delay.

“We moved the project out to 2016 to avoid some of the holiday rush in the market and within Microsoft’s portfolio,” he said. “Personally, I think there is more runway for a new IP like Quantum Break in 2016. Of course, we are making the most of the time and polishing the game.”

This is good news for Quantum Break fans, considering the game is not going to be affected by the CEO’s departure. The game is practically done and will be quality assured by the time it is ready to be released.

Expect Microsoft to cover Quantum Break at its E3 media briefing. If they do, this will be the game’s third E3 press conference.

Are you excited for Quantum Break or did the consecutive delays ruin the hype? Let us know in the comments section.
