A new PS5 leak from Komachi would suggest that Sony’s next-gen system will significantly get closer to elite tier gaming PC specs.
The notorious leaker stated that the PS5’s GPU will be clocked at 2GHz and will feature the following hardware specs: Oberon A0. Gen2 : GFXCLK = 2.000GHz Gen1 : GFXCLK = 0.911Ghz Gen0 : GFXCLK = 0.800Ghz.
Twitter user I Am A Parrot clarified what this would mean in practical gaming terms:

In other words, the PS5’s GPU will come with a computing speed of 9.2 teraflops, making it substantially more powerful than the current king of gaming consoles, the Xbox One X, which clocks in at six teraflops.
If that’s the case, the Play Station 5’s graphics card would also surpass some high-end PC graphics cards like the AMD’s Radeon RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT.
With a standalone price between £325 (about $400 USD) and £600 (about $733 USD), these GPU cards are understandably expensive on their own. It goes without saying that building a gaming PC based on one of those would require some money. Packing this much power in a consoled priced (allegedly) around £400 (about $490 USD) will surely be tempting for many players.
But the PS5 specs’ leak is not the only news about the console we have today. Remember the patent leaked by LetsGoDigital and registered as a Sony electronic device on August 13 picturing a potential design for the PS5?
The publication went one step ahead and released yesterday a full 3D rendering based on the patent.
LetsGoDigital took the original design and added a PS5 logo, multimedia buttons, and blue lighting. It also added LED lighting within the V-shaped part and five USB ports in the front of the console.
While these 3D models are still merely theoretical, Matt Stott, Senior Artist at Codemasters, had confirmed in a now-deleted tweet that the patent was referring to the PS5 Dev Kit.
