The Joker will join the Mortal Kombat 11 roaster of characters on January 28, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios revealed yesterday.
The character will be available to players owning the game’s Kombat Pack, a game expansion featuring six characters, numerous skin, and gear sets and one-week early access for all content.
The announcement of the new character release was made through a video showcasing The Joker’s fighting skills and, of course, brutal fatality. You can have a look at it down below.
Together with The Joker, Kombat Pack owners will also receive new DC-themed character skins including “Time Lord of Apokolips” Geras and the DC Elseworlds Skin Pack featuring the menacing “Darkest Knight” Noob Saibot, reptilian “Killer Kroc” Baraka and sleek “Katwoman of Outworld” Kitana.
Other characters featured in the Kombat Pack include Spawn, available on March 17 for early access players, and the already available Terminator T-800, Sindel, Nightwolf, and Shang Tsung.
Players eager to try The Joker in a serious competition will be able to do so in a Tower event within the Towers of Time mode celebrating the Chinese New Year, coming January 23-27 as a free content update.
The in-game event will feature a three-fight endurance match with modifiers thought especially for the Chinese New Year. These will include a Ceremonial Drum, Chinese Lanterns and Firecrackers, Red Envelopes, Rats (representing the “Year of the Rat”) and the symbolic Chinese Dragon and Pearl.
In case that’s not enough to quench your fighting thirst, the Kombat League, the seasonal ranked mode in Mortal Kombat 11, has already begun its seventh season dubbed the “Season of Death” and is available now for all players to participate in until February 11.
Can’t wait to wreak some havoc with DC’s most infamous villain? You can purchase the Kombat Pack as part of the Mortal Kombat 11 Premium Edition for $89.99 or individually for $39.99. It is available on the Microsoft Store for Xbox One X, on Steam for PC and on the PSN for PS users.
