Ubisoft has announced this morning via an investor earning’s call that five AAA games will release from them in the next year. To be more specific, the games will release between April of this year and March of next year. The titles are promised to include Watch Dogs: Legion, Rainbow Six: Quarantine, and Gods and Monsters. These three titles likely don’t come as a surprise to anyone given their announcements and delays, but it’s good to know regardless. The other two titles were promised to be from Ubisoft’s “biggest franchises.”

We don’t have confirmation on which franchises those are, but a credible games journalist seems to have an idea. If you haven’t heard of Jason Schreier, he’s a news editor at Kotaku and generally puts out consistent information through his Twitter account. In reply to a tweet regarding the earning’s call, Schreier said that the two franchises would be Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry. This, of course, isn’t 100% guaranteed, but it would make a lot of sense. Those titles have been some of their biggest franchises in recent years, so releasing new entries isn’t far-fetched. If we had to guess, these two would likely be announced at E3 in June.

This news, unfortunately, will leave out two highly anticipated Ubisoft sequels. The first of those two is Splinter Cell, which has a small but dedicated fanbase awaiting a new title. The other is Beyond Good & Evil 2, which was announced back in 2017. As a sequel to a fan-favorite classic, it’s unfortunate we won’t have the title just yet. We can hope both of these franchises will get entries in the following fiscal year, though nothing is guaranteed yet.

Are you excited for the release of any of these games? Is there anything you wanted to see from Ubisoft this year but won’t get to? Tell us your thoughts, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
