If there was ever a sitcom that dominated the 90s and early 2000s, it was Friends. With a small but hilarious cast and plenty of great moments, Friends went on to be one of the best sitcoms ever. It even went on to have the most-watched television series finale of the 2000s decade. The love for the show from fans hasn’t died down to this day, and Warner Bros. is looking to give the fans what they want. Today, they’ve announced that a Friends reunion special will be coming to HBO Max offering another hour of entertainment. Not only that, but all six of the original cast members have signed on to be a part of the episode. The news came our way by the six original cast members posting the announcement on their Instagram pages.
As reported by Deadline, the episode is being directed by Ben Winston and produced by FulWell 73. It will be unscripted and untitled, leaving the actors a lot of freedom. Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer will return to the original set to film the episode. They will all be executive producers joining the three creators of the show (Kevin Bright, David Crane, and Marta Kauffman).
The episode will join the rest of the Friends series, all coming exclusively to the HBO Max streaming service in May. Previously the show was a huge hit among Netflix subscribers but they lost the rights to the show recently. Hopefully, fans will be pleased with it on HBO Max though. Friends, if you weren’t already aware of it, is an American sitcom that aired between 1994 and 2004. It stars the six actors mentioned above living in Manhattan engaging in activities that made their lives eventful and troublesome. The show originally garnered mixed reviews, but improved and eventually became one of the best sitcoms to date.
