It is rumored that acclaimed shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 might be coming to current-gen consoles this year.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered may release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2020, according to comicbook.com Since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered released back in 2016, fans have been clamoring for its sequel to get the same treatment. Regardless of their enthusiasm, they have been disappointed for quite a while.
However, a tweet by user Okami claims that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered will finally release this year with multiplayer. Usually, tweets such as this one wouldn’t receive much attention, but Okami has actually been right before. The account leaked Gunfight’s Alpha before it was even announced. Currently, Okami is also claiming that battle royale mode Call of Duty: Warzone will release on March 10. Only time will tell if the account is correct.

So take all this with a grain of salt. But you certainly have my permission to be excited. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered will certainly see the light of day – it’s just a matter of when.
The Call of Duty franchise has been plagued by rumors, leaks, and controversy lately. The most significant is Activision’s subpoena of Reddit to find the culprit of a leak.
In terms of verified information from Activision itself, the company has revealed that there will be multiple remasters announced this year. Some suspect that the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series might make a return. This information also gives more merit to the idea that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered will at least be announced this year, if not released.
We here at The Nerd Stash anxiously await a remaster, but we also quite liked the reboot of the Modern Warfare franchise.
