Apex Legend’s final update for Season 4 released last night with the launch of a brand-new limited-time mode: Battle Armor.  This new mode will see players armed with a pre-determined armor set and loadout right from the get-go. With all other armor spawns completely removed from the map.

Currently, the Battle Armor playlist features all players dropping in with the P2020 pistol, two syringes, and a very modest white leveled armor. No matter where you go, or how much you loot, the new mode will leave you with no other armor spawns on the map. The change serves to balance team interactions on a more even ground. With firefights now heavily dependent on skill, positioning, and thinking while less so on looting and RNG.

Get ready to up your game as we up the armor. 🛡️

The Battle Armor limited-time mode will change periodically over the events 14-day span (April 28th – May 12th). With armor levels progressively increasing from white through to the final stage featuring the in-game evolving Evo Armor.
The schedule for the armor changes are as follows:

  • April 28th – May 2nd: White armor
  • May 2nd – May 6th: Blue armor
  • May 6th – May 9th: Purple Armor
  • May 9th – May 12th: Evo Armor

The new event is sure to bring in some noticeable player changes, along with the relief of not having to scramble (or fight with allies) for better versions of armor. Whereas the final stages of the event (featuring the Evo Armor) will no doubt change gameplay drastically. Forcing squads into more aggressive plays early on to avoid being under-leveled towards the late game.

Currently, the Battle Armor playlist only supports trios on the map Worlds Edge, with Kings Canyon remaining out of the rotation. Although with just under two weeks left till Season 5 hits, this mode is a great way to spice up Season 4’s final days. So, what do you think of the new event? Exited to spawn in with armor and a weapon? Or are you going to be sticking to the traditional duos and trios instead? Let us know in the comments below.
