Deep Rock Galactic took gamers by storm when it came into Early Access on February 28th, 2018. It offered a lot for co-op players and made for endless laughs and bug hunts. Following an Early Access period of over two years, though, the team is finally ready to fully release the game. Coffee Stain and Ghost Ship Games have announced that Deep Rock Galactic will come out of Early Access on May 13th, and releases fully on Xbox One on the same day. The game will be available for $29.99 on both platforms. The team has released a new narrated trailer to go with the launch and welcome new players to Deep Rock Galactic.

Deep Rock Galactic

Deep Rock Galactic, as stated above, is a co-op game where you and up to three other players are part of a dwarven mining team. Working for a large corporation, you go on various missions to collect different resources and explore procedurally generated cave systems. You aren’t alone, though, as there are plenty of bugs in the cave systems and you’re invading their home. As one of four unique classes, you’ll help your team out and escape the cave before the bugs overwhelm you. With a lot of replayability and progression for each character, Deep Rock Galactic promises to give you hours of fun and maybe some dwarven shenanigans along the way. If you want more details, you can check out the game’s Steam page here.

For players who already own Deep Rock Galactic and have been mining away, there’s some new stuff coming in v1.0. The soundtrack has been vastly expanded, offering another 50 minutes of the dwarven synth you’ve come to jam along to. Along with this, there’s more Prestige Assignments, three new Promotion Ranks, and a host of bug fixes and QoL improvements. The update promises to really refine the game and make it feel like a finished product. The journey has only just begun, though, with a roadmap and large content updates coming in the weeks and months following launch. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on what’s coming.

Are you excited for Deep Rock Galactic 1.0? Anything specific you want to see explored in the upcoming updates? Tell us your thoughts, and stay tuned here at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
