BioWare has announced that all future DLC for Dragon Age: Inquisition will be exclusive to PC and current gen consoles and will not be released for PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. Since Dragon Age: Inquisition came out in November, it is highly likely that many players have their original saves on last gen consoles, preventing them from continuing their journey.  In order to solve this dilemma, Bioware released a statement on their official Dragon Age page, stating that they will be allowing saves to transfer over to next gen consoles:

Did you begin your Dragon Age: Inquisition adventure on a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 console and want to upgrade to a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One? We’ve got great news! With our brand new Save Importer feature, you can migrate your old saves, and continue your adventure without starting over from scratch*.

All future Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One only, so we designed our Save Importer feature to help make the transition to a new console as easy as possible. Below, we’ll walk you through the migration process for each console, as well as provide a helpful FAQ.

What will the DLC look like?

If you want to read more of the logistics behind how the Save Importer will work, you can read them here. Essentially, what the FAQ explains is that players must own two copies of Dragon Age: Inquisition, one on the old system, and one on the new. You can only transfer from old consoles to new, and its it needs to be PlayStation 3 to 4, or Xbox 360 to Xbox One. You also need the Black Emporium DLC installed on both systems, which is free. If you have any items tied to an old save that you have not bought or downloaded for the new system, they will not make the transition. If you purchased DLC on a previous gen console, you will be able to unlock it on your new system at no extra charge.

Although it sounds complicated, it will probably be easier then having to start a new play through. More story is going to be released for Dragon Age: Inquisition, although a release date or content has not been announced. Stay tuned for details!

What do you think about the news? Are you going to use the Save Importer feature? Let us know in the comments below!
