This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information.

The mere mention of Nickelodeon will bring a smile to the faces of even the most miserable people. The channel has brought kids (and adults) some absolutely amazing shows throughout the years with the ’90s in many people’s opinion being their golden era.

It’s an opinion that I wholeheartedly agree with, just look at some of the shows they brought us. We had Rugrats, Hey Arnold, The Ren & Stimpy Show, Kenan & Kel and even SpongeBob started in 1999. The list seems almost endless and I could continue naming shows for a while.

Despite some great shows in recent times, Nickelodeon have never managed to recapture their glory days of the ’90s. Something they are looking to change with the announcement of a new animated show, Middlemost Post.

Having received a 20 episode order Middlemost Post looks to bring some classic oddness back to the table as it will feature a former rain cloud who can talk and has somehow ended up working in a post office alongside a magical walrus. Together they will meet weird and wonderful people on an adventure to deliver the mail.

Nickelodeon

I’m already sold.

The name is apparently a working title and could change, but with John Trabbic III (SpongeBob) on board as created and co-executive producer I’m somewhat hopeful that the weirdness will deliver a good show for kids and grown-up kids to enjoy.

Nickelodeon animation executive vice president, Ramsey Naito had this to say about the show:

“Middlemost Post captures everything we look for in a new series. An imaginative and truly unique world, lovable characters who care deeply about each other and big comedic moments to drive the story. The series is created by our very own John Trabbic, with writing partner Dave Johnson, and we can’t wait to bring to life the characters and places in this artist-driven series for our global audience.”

While there’s no solid release date for Nickelodeon’s next animated show I can’t wait to see more on it, even though the first I’ve heard of it was about half an hour ago. Did I mention the Walrus has a magical stomach that acts as storage? Need I say more?

With the small amount of information we have so far be sure to let us know your thoughts on Middlemost Post in the comments and just for fun let us know what your favorite Nickelodeon show of all time is.
