Ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to my article about an announcement of an announcement, namely for UFC 4. It’s been just over 2 years since the release of EA Sports UFC 3 and, considering this in an EA Sports game, it’s about high time we had a new one.

For the uninitiated, UFC is a mixed martial arts sport that sees two people beat (or choke) the living daylights out of each other. It’s quite popular. By all accounts, the third game was pretty fun and there are plenty of people out there clamoring for the next title.

In a tweet from EA today, it was announced that UFC 4 is on the way with an official announcement coming on July 11th. Unfortunately, that’s all the information that they’ve given us thus far. It’s a safe bet to assume the game will follow in the footsteps of the last one by releasing on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

No doubt it will come to the PS5 and Xbox Series X as well. I’m not as hopeful for a Switch version as the realistic polish we’ve come to expect would need a bit of a downgrade on Nintendo’s console and could suffer because of it.

It will be interesting to see who the new cover star is this time, given Conor McGregor’s recent retirement from the UFC. Place your bets below. My bet would be Conor McGregor after he announces his comeback, yet again.

Let us know your thoughts on a new UFC game in the comments. I’m sorry we don’t have more information to give you at the moment, but at least we know it’s coming and with the reveal only a matter of days away, we will have more information soon.
