The breakout television program of 2020 can’t be found on basic cable. It’s not packaged on Direct TV, and it’s not a Netflix Original. Animal Talking is a blissful talk show created by Gary Whitta, set inside the world of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. You can catch the show on Mr. Whitta’s Twitch channel, and you should. Next week is the perfect time to jump in, because it is set to feature Oscar Award-winner Brie Larson and Twitch superstar DrLupo.

Animal Talking trailer

To date, Whitta has hosted numerous megastars and celebrities on Animal Talking. Viewers of Whitta’s late-night talk show have heard the musical talents of artists like T-Pain, Sting, and Shaggy. They’ve listened to conversations with Danny Trejo, Naomi Kyle, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Smith. And the gamers in the audience have watched the hijinks from Greg Miller and the ladies of What’s Good Games.

What separates Animal Talking from the rest of the pack is the charm of Animal Crossing itself. Whitta and his guests can change gears instantly and go from discussing a professional network television program to a video game. The best example of this came on an episode featuring Danny Trejo and Elijah Wood. In a beautiful moment, the night’s cast and guests went from conversations on couches to absolute delightful mayhem. Check out the video below to see what I mean!

Danny Trejo, Elijah Wood, Jessica, Gary, and Adam spin around.

As mentioned, Brie Larson and DrLupo will headline the next episode of Animal Talking on Thursday, June 23 at 7 PM PT. Larson needs no introduction, through Mr. Whitta is sure to provide a dynamite one on Thursday night. The A-list actor has starred in films such as Room, Captain Marvel, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. She has some staunch competition, but Larson may be the biggest guest so far on Animal Talking.

DrLupo is one of the biggest names in video games. He is one of the most popular streamers on Twitch, with over 2.5 million followers. If you’ve been on Twitch or video game Twitter, you’ve seen him.

Accompanying DrLupo and Larson on Thursday will be another popular streamer, Friskk, and the talented musician Kenny Fong.
