It feels like just yesterday we were hearing about Apex Legends’ official launch, with that shadow drop following the reveal. Those were some exhilarating times and while I don’t play the game much anymore, I know it’s definitely a solid battle royale. You can’t really go wrong with a battle royale in the style of Titanfall, let’s be honest. Following that announcement, there have been several seasons of content, all bringing fresh things to the game. This season is no different. The team behind Apex Legends reveals Season 6, otherwise known as Boosted. The biggest change of all is the new character Rampart, who you can catch a glimpse of in the trailer below.
We don’t have a lot of information on Rampart just yet, but we can infer some from the trailer and other tidbits of information. Rampart is a modder at heart, tinkering with various machines and being incredibly good at it. Using these skills, she made a name for herself in underground fight clubs and is now making her way into the Apex Games. Her signature weapon seems to be her LMG, which should be an interesting ability for laying down suppressing fire. Rampart seems to bring someone more bombastic to Apex Legends, not being afraid to get her hands dirty.
We’re excited to see how players use the character, but that’s not all that’s coming to Apex Legends. As with every season, a battle pass is in order. We don’t know what’s in it yet, but it’s a good guess that it’ll likely be focused on various colors. The trailer definitely shows that more than enough. Otherwise, there’s a new crafting system being added. This’ll allow you to collect materials around the map to build better gear for yourself. This should create a new dynamic, and something fresh to collect from buildings. Finally, the Volt is making a bold return from Titanfall. This is a fun weapon in my experience and should feel right at home in the world of Apex Legends.
All in all, this is a season that players hopefully won’t soon forget. Apex Legends Season 6 releases August 18th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. We’d love to hear your thoughts. Does Rampart seem like she’ll bring a lot to the table? What are your experiences with the Volt? Tell us your thoughts, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
