The Twitch stream managed to attract a phenomenal 107,500 peak viewership. Among the games speedrun were Final Fantasy VII Remake, Pokemon Shield, Super Mario Odyssey, Minecraft, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and much, much more. You can check out recordings of their streams via their official YouTube channel here.

Games Done Quick has been in operation since 2010 and have raised $27 million for charities all around the world. These include Doctors Without Borders, Prevent Cancer Foundation, Direct Relief, AbleGamers, and Organization for Autism Research.

Doctors Without Borders, the charity chosen for this livestream, was founded in 1971. It is a humanitarian medical non-governmental organization, started by French doctors and journalists. The goal of the organization is to expand medical care across boundaries irrespective of religion, race, creed, or political affiliation. It delivers emergency aid to people affected by epidemics, natural and man-made disasters, armed conflict, and exclusion from health-care in more than seventy countries.

Games Done Quick has more events in the pipeline. These include Frame Fatales’ ‘Fleet Fatales’ (November 15-21, 2020) and Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 (January 3-10, 2021). The former is an All-Women’s Speedrunning event done on GDQ HotFix. The latter is an annual January marathon, raising money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

You can find more information on Games Done Quick, including their event schedules and the page to make donations via their website here.
