The NVIDIA RTX cards seem to be the talk of the town lately. From their power to make games look more realistic than ever, to their power as cards alone, the RTX cards are powerhouses in the PC tech world. With their 20 series being out in the while for some time, providing high-quality visuals and performance, NVIDIA is ready to up the ante. This morning, the team announced their newest series of graphics cards, the RTX 30 Series. This series utilizes NVIDIA’s impressive Ampere technology, improving upon the 20 Series’ performance and providing stats that are uncomparable.

For the 30 Series, NVIDIA is hopping out with three different options. There’s the RTX 3070, priced at $499, the RTX 3080 priced at $699, and the RTX 3090 coming it at a tall $1499, providing severe power over its sister cards. You can expect higher memory clocks, 24GB of VRAM, and additional TFLOPS across performance for the RTX 3090 (sorry to you tech nerds out there if I butchered that). Overall, the card is going to sport some pretty impressive stats for that high price point. Those willing to spend that kind of money are sure to not be disappointed.

In terms of actual performance in games, NVIDIA promises that the cards will run games in stunning 8K resolution at 60FPS. It’s insane we’ve come this far, especially since it feels like yesterday we got 4K/60 FPS technology. As a final note, NVIDIA announced that two more titles would be getting ray-tracing and DLSS features. These titles are Fortnite, and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. I’m especially interested to see how Black Ops looks, with ray-traced graphics and additional graphical support.

We’ll have to wait until these games release to know for sure though. The RTX 3090 releases on September 24th, with the 3080 coming a week prior. The RTX 3070 will come later in October, with no release date yet. Time for yet another NVIDIA card to trample my poor, five-year-old 750 Ti. I’d love to hear your thoughts though. Will you be looking to purchase one of these cards? Which graphics card are you using right now, and how powerful is it for you? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
