Honestly, who doesn’t love an intense, emotionally psychological adventure game? I know there’s a fair few out there who have too faint a heart, but for all of you out there who can enjoy that type, you have my utmost respect. You have even more if you’ve played one of the greatest psychological games to ever release, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. A new contestant is entering the ring though, looking to bring a new take on the psychological adventure genre. The Signifier is now available on PC and Mac, bringing you into an immersive, mind-bending thriller like no other. You can watch the launch trailer for the game below.

Raw Fury and Playmestudio have created a tech-noir adventure that seeks to explore the human mind. The vice president of the world’s largest tech company has mysteriously died, and it’s up to you to put the pieces together in The Signifier. As these games are though, it’s not quite that simple. You have access to the Dreamwalker, an astounding device that lets you get a closer look into the human brain. Using someone’s memories in this world can be the key to solving vast mysteries, but can also be the most dangerous. Exploring her mind, you must unravel the mystery behind how she died while diving into some painful memories along the way.

The Dreamwalker allows you to traverse between three distinct worlds in The Signifier. You have reality, which as it implies is what we see in the real world. There are objective memories, which lets you see things as they happened prior to her death. And finally, there are subjective feelings. This is how the vice president felt in various situations adding a layer to the clues. While the latter two are quite astounding, you’ll need to use all three to draw conclusions about the crime committed.

Are you ready to dive into the mind of The Signifier? Let me know your thoughts on the game in the comments below!
