You may recall that a year, ago, Dying Light and Left 4 Dead 2 chose to share the zombie goodness with a quick crossover. It was a short and sweet adventure, one that fans of Dying Light clearly enjoyed. Who doesn’t love swinging some iconic Left 4 Dead 2 melee weapons around, right? With Halloween only a few days away now, the Dying Light developers are seeing this as the perfect opportunity to expand upon the previous offerings. There’s a lot more depth this time around, which you can experience from today through October 29. You can watch the crossover event trailer below!

For the newest Dying Light crossover, you can expect increased Viral spawns, waves of zombie hordes to mow down, increased gun and ammo spawns, and a whole lot more carnage. If you’ve ever wanted a Left 4 Dead 2 style experience in Dying Light, this may just satiate your appetite. Joining these infection spawns is a new playable character as well, William Overbeck, also known as Bill. This old war vet still has some time left in him, which you can use to your advantage with the new two-handed Gnome Chompski melee weapon. Not only is this an interesting crossover, but a silly one as well.

These additions are coming to Dying Light as a free DLC, which is available to PC players starting today! Console users can expect the DLC sometime soon, which you can keep posted on through the game’s various social media channels. If it’s been a while since you last played Dying Light, this may be just the excuse to pick it back up. You have to satiate your zombie killing appetite somehow before the sequel.

This looks to be an enjoyable side event for Dying Light, but I’d like to hear your thoughts on it. Will you be picking the game back up to try these new things out? What other games do you want to see it crossover with? Let me know in the comments below!
