With the United States Presidential Election and politics dominating the world news there is no doubt that this has captivated the attention of many people around the globe. I might even take it one step further to say that this may also be sparking the thought of what it might be like to become the Commander and Chief of a nation. Well, the new indie game Suzerain is looking to scratch that seemingly impossible itch!

What Is Suzerain?

Suzerain - COMING DECEMBER 4 - How Will You Lead?

Suzerain is a new game being developed by Fellow Traveler and Torpor Games. It is designed to be an intricate political drama set in a fictional nation. The game begins with your election into the presidency and from then on you are left to your own devices. Your job is to run your nation and run it as best as you can. As I am sure many of you know, a leader cannot please everybody, it will be your job to decide what is best for the people of Sordland. The trailer of Suzerain sums up the point of this game quite well; “Choices have consequences. As president, it’s up to you to lead your nation to repair or ruin. How will you lead?”

Sordland is set in the 1950s in the midst of an unprecedented time with civil unrest and almost a decade of tyranny. You will feel the weight of the world on your shoulders in this mainly text-based drama, where you and your cabinet members will need to decide what is best for this country. What movements will you support in Suzerain? How will you handle immigration? What policies do you want to implement? How exactly will you lead the people of an ailing nation? Will you be prepared to face the consequences of your actions? Are you ready to become the president? All of these tough questions and more will be yours to answer.

Prepare yourself for an epic adventure that will be unlike most video games you have ever played! Suzerain will launch on December 4th on PC and Mac. Will you be trying your hand at becoming the President of Sordland? Let me know in the comments below!
