AMC confirmed earlier this year that their hugely popular zombie TV show, The Walking Dead, was finally coming to an end. With this announcement, they softened the blow by also announcing a host of new projects. These new endeavors included an extended season 11, two new spinoff shows, and six “extra” episodes coming to season 10.

We don’t know too much in terms of what the new spinoff shows will specifically entail. One will be a road-show style that follows the adventures of Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride). As for the other, it will be an anthology based series called Tales of The Walking Dead. Of course, we know season 11 will be the final bow. It is likely to adapt the popular Commonwealth storyline from the comics by Robert Kirkman.

On Twitter, the official account confirmed that these six new episodes will arrive on February 28, 2021! If you’re an AMC+ subscriber, you will receive the episodes three days early!

So what about those mysterious six additional The Walking Dead season 10 episodes? There are a lot of rumors doing the rounds regarding what will go down. So far, we know that Lauren Cohan (Maggie) has been part of the cast. Some of these episodes will likely chronicle what happened in her time off the show. Maggie returned in the season 10 “finale” and her previous episode before that was “What Comes After” in season 9, which also happened to be Rick’s final episode.

In addition to Cohan, cast to portray Lucille in The Walking Dead is Hilarie Burton Morgan, Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s real-life wife. Lucille is Negan’s real non-baseball bat wife in the show. The chemistry is sure to be there! Burton’s casting suggests we could get an adaptation of Here’s Negan, Kirkman’s origin story for the villain. This isn’t the only upcoming Walking Dead show to look forward to, either. In December, Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick will return to do a virtual The Walking Dead Christmas special!

Will you be tuning in to these six extra The Walking Dead season 10 episodes? Let us know in the comments.
